Black Map (dredg, The Trophy Fire, etc.) have released a cover medley of Billy Idol‘s “Eyes Without A Face” and U2‘s “Exit. The group tracked it with Saosin‘s Beau Burchell behind the boards.
Frontman/bassist Ben Flanagan commented:
“We had wrapped up the recording of our forthcoming album and still had the bug to create. At rehearsals we started jamming on covers from bands that influenced us in various ways and this whole thing just really came together. We wanted to be ambitious and combine a couple great songs that we felt would blend in a way that allowed us to put our own stamp on. While the album is getting finalized we wanted to give fans something special to enjoy before dropping new original music, which is right around the corner.”
As stated above, a new studio album from the band was recently completed with the details for it to be revealed at a later date. The group signed with Minus Head Records late last year. For now they have been booked to play the Friday, October 12th date of this year’s ‘Aftershock Festival‘ in Sacramento, CA.
