Defiler have released a video for their new track “Trauma Harness“. A new EP from the outfit titled “A Deity Depraved” is presently headed for a May 06th release. Its release follows some dark times in the band, including the passing of drummer Craig Ledbetter last October and fromtan Jake Shaw suffering pancreas related health issues.
Shaw commented late last month:
These upcoming EPs/album are concept works about real life experiences that I turned into a cohesive story. This one is about how I accidentally overdosed on fentanyl when my doctors weren’t helping me, after they gave up on trying to help and got me addicted to painkillers. https://t.co/g60rDvFXqk

There are three different voices throughout the song of my father, grandmother and my brother Craig, telling me to do everything in my power to keep going. I don’t have anyone in my life to provide positive reinforcement anymore, so this is my way of creating it on my own.

Btw, thankfully I’m not stuck in that cycle anymore and I’ve actually been way more active lately. But I took a ton of that shit, and all that happened was I fell asleep for 20 mins…?!
So
To all my mortal enemies, I’m literally unkillable so bring it the fuck on
