WWE Wrestler “Edge” Lists Foo Fighters, Metallica, Pantera & More As His Favorite Bands

WWE wrestler Adam “Edge” Copeland recently spoke with Revolver about the impact heavy music has had on his life and his career. The conversation arrives ahead of his forthcoming match as a challenger for WWE Universal Championship at this weekend’s ‘WrestleMania 37‘ (airing April 10th-11th), which will find him facing off against fellow challenger Daniel Bryan and defending champion Roman Reigns in a Triple Threat match.

Edge previously had Rob Zombie‘s track “Never Gonna Stop (The Red Red Kroovy)” serve as his entrance theme before switching to Alter Bridge‘s “Metalingus” in the early 2000s. When asked by the aforementioned publication what music he has been listening to lately, he replied:

“There’s the standards. It’s always going to be Foo Fighters, and it’s always going to be some Metallica, some Maiden, some Megadeth, some Machine Head, some Amon Amarth. Sabbath, some Faith No More, The Cult, I mean I can keep going. [Laughs] Pantera — that’s always going to be on my workout mix.

But then there’s some times where I need to chill, and that’s probably going to be a Pearl Jam moment or Avett Brothers. But when I need to get fired up, that’s when I turn to heavy guitars and lots of drums. That’s my go-to pocket. It’s the first thing I do — gotta get the music going, gotta get in the zone.”

You can find more about his passion for metal and rock over at Revolver. Edge was previously forced to retire from active competition in 2011 due to cervical spinal stenosis, but recently made his return to the ring this past January, winning this year’s ‘Royal Rumble‘.
