GoFundMe Launched For Family Of Late Underoath Guitarist Corey Steger

A GoFundMe has been setup to help the widow and children of former Underoath guitarist/vocalist Corey Steger, who died in an automobile accident this past Wednesday, March 17th. Corey passed away in a three car crash in Yulee, FL and was 42-years-old at the time of his death.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, while returning home from work, Corey‘s SUV was struck from behind by a pickup truck that failed to stop at an intersection Corey was waiting at. The impact from that collision caused Corey‘s SUV to collide with another SUV that was also stopped at the intersection. The driver of the pickup truck and the other SUV suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

Corey leaves behind his wife Kim, a 7-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son. You can help them out over at GoFundMe. Steger was a member of Underoath from 1998 to 2001 and appeared on their debut album “Act Of Depression” and their sophomore follow-up, “Cries Of The Past“.

Former Underoath frontman Dallas Taylor commented of this ongoing GoFundMe campaign and Steger‘s death yesterday, March 19th, offering:

“There is a Go Fund Me set up for Kim, and there two beautiful children… People don’t realize, but it’s the months, and years, and years down the road when the love, prayers and financial help really matters.

Please anything you can donate to this beautiful family that has lost a husband, and a dad. Corey was one of the most caring, loving people I’ve ever known. I love you Corey so much, and I miss you with everything in my broken heart. You were there for me in my hardest times, and never stopped loving, and caring for me.

Whatever you can give to help Kim, and this family will make an impact that will help them more than we realize. I love you Corey, gosh I miss you more than you know.”
