Human Impact (ex-Unsane, etc.) have released a new EP titled “EP01” through Ipecac Recordings. A music video for their new single “Recognition” has arrived to complement the release. A vinyl release of “EP01” is currently planned for August 13th with pre-orders available here.
Speaking of “Recognition” and the inspiration behind it, the band’s Chris Spencer commented:
“Do you ever feel like you’re being watched? The inspiration for ‘Recognition‘ came from a time when I was at the Hong Kong International Airport. The track focuses on the advent of global surveillance and loss of personal privacy via facial recognition programs and data tracking. As our world becomes more connected we’re forfeiting our right to a private existence.”
In addition to featuring a collection of singles, “EP01” also boasts several previously unreleased b-sides from the sessions for the band’s 2020 self-titled debut album.
