Satanic Planet, the new industrial project featuring Justin Pearson (The Locust, Dead Cross, etc. fame), Dave Lombardo (Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Cross, ex-Slayer, etc.), Luke Henshaw (Planet B, etc.) and Lucien Greaves (co-founder of The Satanic Temple), have teased what appears to be a May 28th release date. That tease was shared below by the band and its members earlier today, March 10th.
Greaves serves as a lyricist for the project while Pearson handles the vocal duties. Several guests are involved with the band’s upcoming debut album, they include: Cattle Decapitation‘s Travis Ryan, Silent‘s Jung Sing, Eric Livingston, Nomi Abadi and Shiva Honey. Steve-O of ‘Jackass‘ fame also appears.
Last April Lombardo told told Rolling Stone of that group:
“The name of it is Satanic Planet. It’s with Justin Pearson, who’s in Dead Cross as well. And Luke Henshaw, who he works with pretty closely. And Luke also worked on some of the remixes that we featured on our [Dead Cross] EP.
And some of the vocals are done by the head of the Satanic Temple. This is through his affiliation with Justin, so they decided to create an album that’s kind of influenced by Anton LaVey’s early album that he recorded of one of his Black Masses.
So we took influence from that. What was supposed to be one song ended up being the whole record.”
