AFI Announce New Album “Bodies”, Debut “Looking Tragic” & “Begging For Trouble”

June 11th has officially been set as the release date for AFI‘s eleventh studio album, “Bodies“. Rise Records will be issuing the effort, which the band own guitarist, etc. Jade Puget produced. Tony Hoffer (M83, Silversun Pickups) was tasked with mixing it. You can pre-order it now at this location.

Alongside the announcement of the album comes the debut of two new tracks from it, “Looking Tragic” and “Begging For Trouble“, both of which can be heard below. The video for “Looking Tragic” was done by Adam Mason. Speaking of “Looking Tragic“, the band’s frontman Davey Havok commented:

“‘Looking Tragic‘ addresses the theme of overstimulation resulting in desensitisation. Melodic and driving, the song came to life quickly and immediately stood out as a track to make bodies, if not sentiments, move.”

Drummer Adam Carson also weighed in on the other newly premiered single, “Begging For Trouble“:

“After years of receiving early versions of songs from Jade and Davey, in forms that span loosely arranged chords and scratch vocal to fully realised demos, I think I have become quite adept at knowing which songs will or will not make the record. ‘Begging For Trouble‘ was green lit, at least in my mind, the moment I heard the vocals come in. To me, the track is a cornerstone of the new record.”

Both of the aforementioned new songs will be made available on a limited 7″/digital bundle that is headed for a May 28th release date. You can pre-order that here.
