Reach NYC With Jacoby Shaddix

Reach NYC Debut Video For Their Track “Back From The Dead”, Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix Guests

The reunited Reach NYC have now released a video for their their track “Back From The Dead“. That song marked the band’s first new material in 17 years and finds Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix guesting. The group had Boy Epic directed the video with Reach NYC vocalist Rene Mata sharing the following of the shoot:

“When I spoke to Boy Epic, the video director, for ‘Back From the Dead,’ I told him that I wanted the feeling of being lost alone intertwined with wanting to find happiness faith again. I told him the song was about depression feeling lost, and fighting to take your life back.

It was an affirmation to myself after losing my close friend Chester Bennington to suicide and thus found myself suffering from a deep depression afterwards myself. I told him I wanted the video to be about the song first and foremost. I wanted it to be visually stunning. I think he was right on target. I was blown away when I saw it.”

Shaddix added:

“This video for ‘Back From The Dead‘ really captures just how small and insignificant we can feel when we are faced with the reality of how big we let our demons become at points in our lives. We are not meant to suffer alone. It’s a great reminder. The visuals capture that sense of isolation perfectly.”

The band also had several other musicians share their thoughts on this new track/video from the band, you can read that below:

“Amazing visuals that combine futuristic and organic elements. It gives you a perspective of where we are in this crazy world!” — James Munky Schaefer (Korn)

“‘Back From the Dead‘ is a great new rock track. Rena Mata and company throw down a strong riff with lyrics that speak about the resilience of the human condition. Through personal struggles and life challenges Mata has dug deep and exposed a very real subject matter that resonates with us all.” — Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver)

“It’s fucking crushing.” — John Temptesta (The Cult)

“’Back from the Dead‘ hits hard and has that huge chorus that rock has been missing for a minute, it punches you right in the face. I love the futuristic elements in the video that make you really think about the lyrics.” — Sean Dowdell (Greydaze)

“Cool song, cool video and cool guys…..REACH NYC have been forging their way through the ever evolving and sometimes volatile New York music scene year after year….against all odds. They don’t give up and they don’t back down. It’s a New York thing, Their brand of rock ‘n’ roll is as infectious now as it ever was and it’s great to see them fired up and back in the game like this.” — Robert Caggiano (Volbeat)

“Riffs galore. Powerful song. What more do you want? (Kids these days!)” — Joey Santiago (The Pixies)
