New Transitional Home For LBGTQ+ Youth To Be Named After Power Trip’s Riley Gale

A new transitional home for LBGTQ+ youth in the Dallas, TX area will be named after late Power Trip frontman Riley Gale. Following Gale‘s untimely death this past August, his family asked for donations to be made in his honor to Dallas Hope Charities—a non-profit dedicated to helping homeless LBGTQ+ youth.

In light of the outpouring of donations made, the aforementioned organization was able to expedite the purchase of a new facility which they will be naming after Gale. Dallas Hope Charities CEO Evie Scrivner commented, “We had no idea what that would result in, but the metal, thrasher community is like the most giving, generous, connected — it’s crazy just the people that have come together.”

The facility is expected to have a grand opening on December 01st with more details available in a report over at Dallas Observer. Previously a library at Dallas Hope Charities‘ pre-existing location was named after Gale. Gale had been passionate about helping the organization in the months prior to his death, spreading both awareness and donating a portion of ticket proceeds from Power Trip shows.
