Bad Wolves’ Tommy Vext: “If My Black Life Matters, It Should Matter Regardless If I Agree Or Disagree With Any Political Party”

Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext hasn’t been shy about his interest and belief in political conspiracy theories and his often right leaning political stance. Expectedly in the climate we currently inhabit, his decision to publicly endorse Donald Trump‘s ongoing U.S. Presidential re-election campaign last weekend proved to be a controversial one however, with some of the backlash spilling over to the rest of the band.

Bad Wolves guitarist Doc Coyle has of course publicly distanced himself from some of Vext‘s views in the past. According to this latest post made by Vext via the Bad Wolves Instagram last night (October 28th), that difference in political beliefs within the band still stands. He commented:

“It’s important to remember that in this political climate many of our friends and loved ones will have very different political opinions.

In Bad Wolves, Doc & I have completely opposing ideologies and we will VOTE based on the candidates that best represent the policies that are important to us as individuals.

Just like this nation, our opinions are divided but we still get to share a creative work environment by respecting each other’s principles and not engaging in pointless arguments. I feel the way I feel, just like millions of other Americans.

Nobody has the right and definitely should not have the power to silence … me … us … or you …or anyone on any side. The 1st amendment is the 1st for a reason. If my black life matters, it should matter regardless if I agree or disagree with any political party.

And The fact of the matter is whatever your political belief is THE ONLY PRODUCTIVE WAY TO GO ABOUT IT IS TO GET OUT THERE AND VOTE.

Engaging in bullying, hate speech, violence, pettiness or crying about opposing candidates on your friends and families social media holds no power in comparison to YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE.

So to anyone outraged by my personal political endorsement let us be the example, two brothers with completely opposing political views are friends and creative partners within this band.

We can talk about social issues, policies and sometimes we just agree to disagree… yet always, always, always …. civility must prevail.

We will both go and VOTE, as you should… if you want to be heard, VOTE … and whichever way it goes in the end, we all have to accept the outcome. That’s what makes democracy a Democracy.

I respect diversity of thought amongst my team. I think the world would be a better place if conversations were allowed to bridge the gaps between our differences. Maybe one day the rest of the country will too.

take care of yourselves &
take care of each other
