Further details have been revealed for the upcoming music competition show ‘No Cover‘. The show is being overseen by the rebranded Hit Parader banner, which now focuses on TV, film and live event projects related to rock and metal music. Sumerian Records, etc. founder Ash Avildsen ( CEO), music personality Matt Pinfield (VP of artist relations) and Josh Bernstein (president) are behind that company.

The first season of the show will be filmed at the Troubadour and The Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, CA. The judges for the series include:

Alice Cooper
Bishop Briggs
Gavin Rossdale
Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders)

They commented on the upcoming series as follows:

Alice Cooper:

“I can’t wait for ‘No Cover‘. To me, a band really isn’t a band unless they are writing their own material, and if you know anything about me you know that I have a very high standard for not only the songs but also the performance. I’m looking for the band who has it all – the one who can not only write it and play it, but perform it and make me BELIEVE it.”

Bishop Briggs:

“I am beyond excited to be a judge on ‘No Cover‘! Songwriting is such a therapeutic outlet for me to express myself so I cannot wait to dig deep and learn more about each person who gets on that stage.”

Gavin Rossdale:

“I’m thrilled to be part of ‘No Cover‘ – what a talented panel of artists to be collaborating with We’ve seen the shows singing the hits -finally the chance to find a real band with their own sound and their own vision. I hope we catapult some great artists into the spotlight.”

Lzzy Hale:

“I’m beyond excited to join my friends, peers and fellow rockers as a judge for Hit Parader’s music competition TV show ‘No Cover‘. I hope that my passion and experience will help to inspire and encourage these young bands to carve out their own path in this world.”

Tosin Abasi:

“I’m really looking forward to being on this incredible panel of judges. It’s the first time I’ve seen a show like this that actually connects with the music I’m into. This is going to be rad!”

Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn and SiriusXM‘s Caity Babs will co-host the series, while Matt Pinfield will conduct behind the scenes interviews. Hit Parader CEO Ash Avildsen commented, “‘No Cover‘ will be the realest, most unfiltered representation of the biz and the quest of making it as unsigned artist. No music competition show has ever done what we are about to do.”

Bands seeking to take part in the competition can apply for potential involvement via for a fee. Explaining the implementation of fees, which range from $99 to $499, the show’s organizers stated, “The above options are a chance of a lifetime and requires a fee, no different than submitting to SXSW or other music/film competitions. These events take a lot of personnel and resources.”

According to an official press release, ‘entries are open to the general public and musicians will submit their original songs, photos and videos for the show’s producers to select from. Once bands are selected, our celebrity judges will grade these artists on three key factors: originality, presence and songcraft.’
