Fear Factory To Re-Release “The Industrialist” With New Drumming By Mike Heller

Fear Factory are planning to release an updated version of their 2012 album “The Industrialist“. The band’s current drummer Mike Heller has been enlisted to go back and record actual percussion for that album, replacing the programmed drums that were originally found on that effort. Heller recently revealed the news to New Breed TV, offering:

“‘The Industrialist‘, which never had real drums, is going to be — at least as far as drums go — re-recorded, I will be recording real drums on [it], and it will get a release alongside the original.”

Heller also found himself in a similar situation with the band recently, having been recruited to go back and track real percussion on Fear Factory‘s forthcoming studio album. Originally completed several years back, that as-yet unreleased effort originally had programmed drumming in place as well.

The band’s guitarist Dino Cazares revealed that he tapped Heller for that role and has since gone back to the studio to re-track some parts himself to accommodate the drumming. To that end he launched this successful GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the added production costs.

A tentative March release date has been released for that album. Cazares is presently planning to continue Fear Factory without frontman Burton C. Bell, who recently quit the group with no intentions of rejoining. Bell‘s already completed vocal tracks will appear on the group’s forthcoming album however.
