You may recall that Attila frontman Chris Fronzak expressed his interest in resurrecting the ‘Vans Warped Tour‘ last year. That annual festival tour ended its touring incarnation in 2018 for numerous reasons. Select 25th anniversary destination festivals were held in 2019. While Fronzak went on to meet with the tour’s founder Kevin Lyman, the cost was apparently “a little beyond what I had at the moment.” He also mentioned that there were some select legalities that prevented the tour from returning for at least three years.
Speaking recently with No Jumper, Fronzak said of that, “[Kevin Lyman] explained to me that for legal reasons, which I can’t go into depth, ‘Warped Tour‘ can’t come back for at least another three years or so.” Fronzak still hopes to be involved should the tour return, offering, “hopefully I’m the one that brings it back because I have a really good idea for how to make it sustainable and make it bigger than it’s ever been.”
This past May Lyman seemed to be teasing plans for a 2021 festival tour that would go under a different name.
