Yesterday (August 29th) saw Trivium livestream a set of rarely played/never before performed tracks from their catalog as part of a free virtual performance dubbed ‘The Deepest Cuts‘. Amid that set, the band paid tribute to late Power Trip frontman Riley Gale, who passed away earlier this week of as yet unspecified causes.
Below you can watch footage of Trivium covering Power Trip‘s “Executioner’s Tax (Swing Of The Axe)” during that set. You can also watch the entire performance itself via Twitch or below, with the actual set beginning around 01:33:00 in. The setlist for ‘The Deepest Cuts‘ performance ran as follows:
“Bending The Arc To Fear”
“A Skyline’s Severance”
“Ascendancy”
“Like Callisto To A Star In Heaven”
“Detonation”
“No Way To Heal”
“Scattering The Ashes”
“Dusk Dismantled”
“To The Rats”
“The Revanchist”
“Of Prometheus And The Crucifix”
“When All Light Dies”
“Suffocating Sight”
“Executioner’s Tax (Swing Of The Axe)” (Power Trip cover)
“Torn Between Scylla & Charybdis”
“The Ones We Leave Behind”
Today we paid tribute to our good friend, Riley Gale of @PowerTriptx by covering “Soul Sacrifice” & “Swing Of The Axe” during The Deepest Cuts stream. His family asked to donate to the Dallas Hope Charities in his name to show support: https://t.co/N0vcOd7Rjm REST IN POWER RILEY pic.twitter.com/qeKAVPJgtE
