Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Score Two Emmy Nominations For Their ‘Watchmen’ Score

Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been nominated for two Emmy Awards this year for their scoring work on HBO‘s TV adaptation of ‘Watchmen‘. The pair are up for the ‘Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Series, Movie Or Special (Original Dramatic Score)’ category for their work on the premiere episode of the series, ‘It’s Summer And We’re Running Out Of Ice‘.

The duo are also up for ‘Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics’ category for their work on the track “The Way It Used To Be“, which was featured on the ‘Watchmen‘ episode, ‘This Extraordinary Being‘. Thus far Reznor and Ross have previously taken home an Academy Award and a Grammy for their past scoring work. Should they succeed in taking home an Emmy, they’d only need to win themselves a Tony award to achieve the lofty ‘EGOT’ status.

Reznor & Ross‘ score for the ‘Watchmen‘ was released across several volumes, which included some incredibly elaborate physical releases. This year’s Emmys will be handed out at an awards ceremony on September 20th with Jimmy Kimmel hosting.
