Body Count Release “No Lives Matter” To Radio

Body Count have shipped a new radio edit of their 2017 track “No Lives Matter” to radio today, June 17th. The band decided to release the single to radio in light of the protests being made to end racism and police brutality worldwide in the wake of the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police. Philipp Schulte, who serves as a director at the band’s current label home of Century Media Records, commented:

“As a company we felt it was necessary to release this single as a way to actively participate in the change that is needed to combat police brutality and racism. It is a first step in doing our part to inspire unity and transformation.”

If you’re unaware of the intention behind the track, the band’s frontman Ice-T laid it out in a statement prefacing the below music video for it. “No Lives Matter” appeared on Body Count‘s previous release, “Bloodlust“. The band’s latest album “Carnivore” hit stores earlier this year.

Body Count are no stranger to protest music with their most infamous track “Cop Killer” remaining absent from traditional outlets since the early 1990s. It’s continued unavailability was recently the subject of this investigative report by Billboard.
