Alain Johannes Shares New Single “Free”, Covers Chris Cornell’s “Can’t Change Me”

Alain Johannes of Eleven, Them Crooked Vultures, etc. fame has released a new song titled “Free” from his new album “Hum“. Ipecac Recordings will be releasing that album on July 31st. In other news, Johannes recently paid tribute to late Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell with the below cover of Cornell‘s GRAMMY nominated track, “Can’t Change Me“.

Johannes and his late wife Natasha Shneider both performed on the original track and co-produced Cornell‘s “Euphoria Morning” album. Johannes commented of revisiting this song some 20 plus years later:

“It’s really meaningful for me to present this tribute. I lived ‘Euphoria Morning‘ with Chris and Natasha and now with my musical brothers in Chile, the country where I was born, so we are excited to revisit this music 21 years later. I feel very proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

Joining Johannes for this performance are Felo Foncea, Cote Foncea, Cristobal Aedo and Ignacio Ibarra.
