Trapt Preview New Singles, Decry Festival Appearance Allegedly Being Cancelled Over Political Beliefs

Trapt, who have increased their profile substantially in recent weeks due to the incendiary Twitter behavior of their frontman Chris Taylor Brown, have shared a clip of their new single “Tell Me How You Really Feel“. That song is one of three new tracks from the band’s forthcoming album “Shadow Work” that is due to premiere on May 15th. The songs “Make It Out Alive” and “Far Enough Away” will also launch alongside pre-orders for the aforementioned album on that date.

Meanwhile, Brown put out a call last week to his band’s fans on social media after claiming that the venue The Afterlife Music Hall was attempting to cancel his band’s September 05th, 2020 performance in Lombard, IL over his outspoken right wing political beliefs. The band had been booked to perform at Puddle Of Mudd‘s ‘Muddfest‘ along with Tantric, Fuel and more.

Brown states that social media has been censoring him in his campaign to spotlight the issue and alleges that a previous Trapt show booked this past September in a surrounding area was cancelled over Brown‘s opinions on Rep. Ilhan Omar‘s “some people did something” comments in regards to 9/11.

Brown commented of this upcoming forced cancellation:

Trapt fans! Share the F out of this post! Does this post “mention a politician, or topics that can influence the outcome of an elections or existing or proposed legislation?” FB rejected my attempt to boost this post to the people in and around Lombard!

I want everyone to see a perfect example of the intolerant left with this show cancellation and to see how FB is actively censoring me!!! Another example of the intolerant left and their social media sites and search engines against the right! Share this post!

So we had a Muddfest Date scheduled for Sat Sept 5, VERY close to the same suburb of liberal AF Chicago called Berwyn. Berwyn was the ONLY show to cancel Trapt for last year’s Sept tour for my opinion on that woman who said “some people did something” that I made known last Sept 11 here on FB.

I will fight this #cancelculture assault on 1st amendment rights with EVERYTHING I got! Here is the venue trying to cancel Trapt, who is main support to Puddle Of Mudd with Fuel and Tantric also on the bill.

Chicago, we love you, but some of you are just too intolerant to respect FREE SPEECH and the 1st! The promoters who are obviously liberal AF and intolerant of Trump and his “deplorable” supporters.

As long as people like you exist, I will be DOUBLING DOWN on my support for said “deplorables,” in the face of so much left liberal hatred of their opinions and way of life! White people don’t have to feel guilty for existing Jon! Fuck you!

I’d never want to play any show associated with your intolerant mind. As for the Trapt fans who will be missing us on this date, I feel bad that I won’t be able to hang with you on this date, but FREE speech and our 1st amendment rights have to be the most important thing, especially in today’s climate!

As long as the left wants to degrade the right and Trump supporters in general, I will be countering it! With everything I got!! ~CTB”
