Behemoth’s Nergal Gives Update On His Ongoing Court Cases

Being an avowed Satanic band in a country as religiously oriented as their native Poland hasn’t exactly made things easy for Behemoth. As such, the band’s vocalist/guitarist Adam “Nergal” Darski once again finds himself in the courts. Amid the latest legal entanglements for him are a reopening of the claims that he and two other individuals had insulted the Polish national emblem with this merch design. According to Darski that case, which was previously dismissed in 2018, has been reopened.

Also among his legal entanglements is this piece of artwork gifted to him by Tom Gabriel Warrior of Triptykon and Celtic Frost fame. It depicts Jesus Christ being crucified to a large wooden dildo. Upon showcasing it on his and Behemoth‘s social media several years ago, he was interviewed by authorities.

Presumably he was later charged for violating Polish blasphemy laws, which state: ‘Whoever offends religious feelings of other people by publicly insulting an object of religious cult or a place for public holding of religious ceremonies, is subject to a fine, restriction of liberty or loss of liberty for up to 2 years.’ It is thought that charges been brought against Darski in relation to that article and the aforementioned phallic artwork.

Speaking via his Instagram yesterday, April 19th, Darski commented:

“In case some of you are wondering what’s going on with my legal cases while we r on quarantine… The “Polish emblem blasphemy “ has just been reopened and we r going thru this bullshit again in June. The same month I’m confronting Polish law system with “dildo jesus” case as well… “Although the most acute judges of the witches and even the witches themselves, were convinced of the guilt of witchery, the guilt nevertheless was non-existent. It is thus with all guilt.”
