Melvins’ Buzz Osborne Delays His New Album To August, Debuts “I’m Glad I Could Help Out”

Melvins frontman/guitarist Buzz “King Buzzo” Osborne has delayed the release of his new album “Gift Of Sacrifice” to an August 14th on Ipecac Recordings. That outing finds him paired with Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle (and Melvins Lite, etc. fame). The decision to delay the effort from its originally intended May 15th date arrives after Osborne was forced to cancel the spring leg of his solo tour in support of the album.

Osborne has opted to not leave his fans empty handed though, having debuted a music video for the track “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” below. He commented of that:

“‘I’m Glad I Could Help Out‘ is the only song on the album that was done in a single take. Trevor and I recorded this in one live session and I couldn’t have been happier with what the result was.”

Meanwhile, addressing the album’s delay, Ipecac Recordings co-founder Greg Werckman commented:

“It’s no secret that these are strange times The music industry has been wounded as have most everyone else. The combination of the closure of our beloved indie record stores, delays and shutdowns of manufacturing plants and the lack of disposable income for many has given us no reasonable choice but to delay the release of this wonderful record. Fear not, music as you knew it, will eventually be back.”
