Alien Weaponry have announced the cancellation of their summer European/UK touring. The band had intended to play shows of their own around the annual festival circuit. However, as we’ve seen recently, touring in Europe this summer will practically be an impossibility amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the measures implemented to contain it.
The band’s frontman/guitarist Lewis de Jong commented:
“We are gutted that we won’t be able to make it over this summer, but rest assured we will be back among our fans as soon as we can. Stay metal, stay safe.”
His brother, drummer Henry de Jong offered:
“We are so bummed to be disappointing fans, but understand the importance of us all working together in this time of global crisis to do what’s best for our communities.”
The group had begun recording their new album at Roundhead Studios in Auckland, NZ earlier this year, but were forced to postpone their sessions amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. They intend to resume the process once those restrictions are lifted.
