Carcass Reveal Title For New Album

Having already revealed an August 07th release date for their seventh full-length album, Carcass have also now confirmed it’s title. “Torn Arteries” has officially been chosen as the name of the follow-up to 2013’s “Surgical Steel“.

The band’s guitarist Bill Steer confirmed the news to Heavy, revealing the choice to be inspired by a project the band’s founding drummer Ken Owen had when he was a teenager by the same name. Steer said of that:

“He had a fictitious band called Torn Arteries and he recorded everything himself in his bedroom — guitar and he’d actually bang on boxes and kind of scream into the mic. d the whole thing was so distorted, it kind of sounded super heavy, even though essentially you were listening to a guy with a Spanish guitar and a couple of boxes. I think Jeff [Walker[ appreciates the connection to the past and the fact that it was another Ken Owen classic. So that was his choice, really, and it stuck.”

Steer also went on to confirm that due to the material for the album having been written prior, this new effort doesn’t feature any songwriting contributions from the band’s guitarist Tom Draper, who joined the band back in 2018.
