Mr. Bungle‘s previous studio tease looks to have been all but officially confirmed with their latest post on the matter. As for what they are up to, they’re not yet ready to spill the beans. Earlier this year the band took to the stage for the first time in roughly twenty years. Joining Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn and Trey Spruance for those shows was Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Cross, etc. drummer Dave Lombardo.
Ian‘s involvement in these latest happenings has already seemingly been confirmed by the presence of his name on a studio board. Since news of the group potentially being in the studio broke, there’s been various theories as to what they are up to.
Some of the more popular ones include a proper re-recording of their early demo “The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny“—which they performed almost exclusively at their reunion shows this year. Some have also speculated that the band will be recording a number of their early b-sides which they also played at those shows.
Then there’s those hoping for a potential live recording of the show, or a live in-studio recording of the demo. For now though, it seems we’ll have to wait and see:
