See Metallica’s James Hetfield Cover Eddie Money In First Performance Since Rehab


Last night (February 20th) saw Metallica‘s James Hetfield hit the stage for the first time since checking himself into rehab for his alcoholism issues this past fall. For his live return, he performed an acoustic cover of Eddie Money‘s “Baby Hold On” during a tribute/benefit concert to the late Eddie Money last night, February 20th.

That show as held at the Saban in Beverly Hills, CA and was billed as ‘A Star-Studded Tribute To Eddie Money’ and proceeds from the event were raised for the ‘USC Eddie Money Cancer Research Fund’. Sammy Hagar, Rick Springfield and more also performed. Both Hetfield and Money were friends, having met years back at an Oakland Raiders football game. Money passed away on September 13th, 2019 after a battle with esophageal cancer.
