Crowbar‘s Kirk Windstein has officially rejoined Down and will be taking part in the band’s 25th anniversary shows for their debut album “NOLA” next year. Windstein originally exited the band back in 2013 with Bobby Landgraf taking his place. Speaking recently with Revolver, Windstein confirmed his return:
“I’m in, 100 percent. The quote from Pepper [Keenan, Down/Corrosion Of Conformity guitarist] was, ‘If you ain’t doing it, I ain’t doing it.’ Phil [Anselmo, Down, etc. frontman], Pepper and Jimmy [Bower, Down drummer] are my three of my oldest, closest friends, so this is a no-brainer for me.”

When asked if his position was a permanent one, he offered:
“As far as I know, I’m back in the band. Bobby Landgraf did a fantastic job, and he’s a very good friend of mine. But once again, Down is back to what it started out as, which is a 100 percent complete side project. Everyone’s other bands are the priority and that’s that. But it’s been six and a half years since I jammed with those guys, so I’m excited. It’s gonna be fun.”
Thus far the group have rolled out a handful of dates overseas celebrating the album’s anniversary:
06/20 Dessel, BEL – Graspop Metal Meeting (tickets)
06/17-20 Copenhagen, DEN – Copenhell (tickets)
Meanwhile, Windstein will have a new solo album titled “Dream In Motion” out on January 24th.
