The Ghost Inside Expect Music From Their New Album To Arrive By Summer 2020

The Ghost Inside haven’t been entirely secretive with their plans for new music, having already revealed the involvement of members of A Day To Remember and Fit For An Autopsy in the early creative process. With the band planning to return to the road next year for a handful of shows, the band’s Jim Riley revealed that there should be new music released by the time they hit Europe and the UK in late June.

Riley recently told Kerrang! that the outfit have been in the studio on and off since their triumphant return to the stage this past summer—their first time onstage subce their November 2015 bus crash. When asked if fans would be hearing music by the time their 2020 summer shows took place, Riley replied “yes”.

When asked what has changed with their upcoming album, he commented:

“The biggest difference is the emphasis on collaboration. This is the first record without [former lead guitarist and co-founder] Aaron Brooks, and first with Chris Davis. Aaron was the main guy to put the ideas together before, and we’re doing it much more as a group on this one. There’s also a freedom now to explore the TGI sound in any way we want. We are so far removed – almost six years – from the ‘Dear Youth‘ process, and the band has grown so much as individuals and as a collective that we bring a lot of new things to the table.”

Regarding the involvement of Putney and McKinnon, Riley stated:

Will was our first choice producer for this project, and we always wanted to have Jeremy involved as well. We are very lucky that we don’t have a deadline and have been able to work around their schedules. Epitaph have been incredibly supportive on this as well, understanding that making the record was going to be a little non-traditional, but if the results are as good as we are hoping it will all have been worth it.”

Yesterday saw the band mark the fourth anniversary of their bus crash with the release of a new live video for “Mercy. The group’s current live schedule runs as follows:

01/11 Tarwin Lower, AUS – UNIFY Gathering
06/26 Gräfenhainichen, GER – Full Force Festival
07/04 London, UK – O2 Academy Brixton (Tickets) may receive a commission from tickets purchased through the link in the above post.
