Tool Played “Merkaba” Live For The First Time in 17 Years Last Night

Tool dusted off an oldie during their set last night (November 09th) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. During the show the band performed an abbreviated version of their instrumental track “Merkaba“, marking its first time live performance since 2002. The band originally began performing that track as a lead-in to “Sober” in the late 90s before giving it a live release on “Salival“.

Given that Tool enforce a strict no filming/photo policy at their shows, you’ll probably have to catch them live to potentially see them perform it. Luckily for you, the group are currently out on the below headlining run:

11/11 Toronto, ON – Scotiabank Arena
11/12 Toronto, ON – Scotiabank Arena
11/14 Boston, MA – TD Garden
11/16 Newark, NJ – Prudential Center
11/18 Philadelphia, PA – Wells Fargo Center
11/19 Brooklyn, NY – Barclay’s Center
11/21 Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Casino Arena
11/22 Atlantic City, NJ – Boardwalk Hall
11/24 Raleigh, NC – PNC Arena
11/25 Washington, DC – Capitol One Arena

You can pick up tickets for that trek, which finds Killing Joke opening here.
