Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri Has Been Seeking Fan Donations On Social Media In Exchange For Band Perks (Updated)

Update: November 07th, 2019 01:48 PM:

Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri has since refunded the fans who donated to his ‘Emmure Cult’ fan club, taking to social media to offer the following explanation:

“I think its appropriate, now that there are news articles circulating on the matter, to clarify that yes I have been canvasing with fans to see who would be interested in a long term fan club subscription. Apologies to anyone who was under the impression this was nefarious.”

“I have nothing but deep appreciation for the people who support myself and the rest of EMMURE and I would be pained to think that anyone would suspect us of being “scammers” or anything other than genuine as people and as artist. To the people who have subscribed, thank you.”

“UPDATE: Everyone that subscribed has been full refunded, because I honestly don’t have the mental energy to deal with all the negativity surrounding something that is harmless and benefited EVERYONE involved. See ya, in the real world.”

As Palmeri hinted at above, the campaign, which involved fans donating $100 to a PayPal in exchange for perks including VIP and guest list access to shows, exclusive merch and more, was met with suspicion from some.  Seemingly, the problem lies more in the nature of how it was being approached, with Palmeri direct messaging followers via social media, rather than launching the campaign via a more transparent medium. Palmeri‘s social media accounts remain private and no mention of the fan club campaign appears to have been mentioned on the band’s official online locations.

Original Story:

Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri appears to have taken to directly contacting select social media followers in a bid to generate money for the band’s activities. In exchange for a $100 USD donation, Palmeri is offering fans entry into the ‘Emmure Cult’. As part of that, he is promising free VIP and guest list spots at future shows, exclusive merch items and a signup to an exclusive mailing list.

One of the messages sent to a fan via Palmeri‘s verified Instagram account was obtained by Lambgoat, it reads as follows:

“…So I’m reaching out to people (hopefully true fans) asking if they would be able to make a $100 donation to the Emmure cult. But it’s not just a $100 donation via PayPal, it also signs you up to our exclusive email list and gives donation members access to free VIP and guest list spots at future shows plus exclusive merch items both at our shows and online. The current industry climate is pretty rough, so we want to give the fans a chance to be invested in what we do while supporting us. These spots are limited, so let me know if you’re interested and I’ll supply the necessary info.”

Both of Palmeri‘s social media accounts have been private for several months now. The band have been in the studio recently for a new album that is due next year, recently debuting a new track from it titled “Pigs Ear“.
