Update: November 02nd, 2019 09:17 AM:

Prophets Of Rage/Public Enemy vocalist Chuck D has also commented on the fate of Prophets Of Rage:

Original Story:

Rage Against The Machine made headlines with yesterday’s (November 01st) surprise announcement of a live return they have planned for 2020. While that reveal has oddly remained absent among the band’s more established online locales, the Instagram account that was launched to announce the dates has since been officially verified by Instagram.

Furthermore, it would appear that the band’s return next year has spelled the end of 3/4th of the group’s more recent project, Prophets Of Rage. That outfit saw Rage Against The Machine‘s guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk unite with Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Together they revisited previous material from their other outfits—including songs from Rage Against The Machine—while also releasing original tracks of their own.

B-Real shared the following post via his social media yesterday (November 01st), in part commenting that the Prophets Of Rage was “fun while it lasted”. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

“I want to say thank you to the fans that supported @prophetsofrage for the time we’ve been rocking together. It’s been an honor to rock stages and people of all ages with these guys. It’s been a great time and great memories in a short time. Rockin along side of Chuck and Tom has been amazing to say the least. It was fun while it lasted and I hope we left a big impression and that the music has been a source of inspiration for those that needed it. That was the purpose we got together. So I say to y’all stay informed, stay engaged and fight the good fight. ✌🏽️🤟🏼”

B-Real‘s post was later shared by DJ Lord on his own social media. Rage Against The Machine have thus far announced the following dates:

03/26 El Paso, TX – TBA
03/28 Las Cruces, NM – TBA
03/30 Phoenix, AZ – TBA
04/10-12 Indio, CA – ‘Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival
04/17-19 Indio, CA – ‘Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival

While the two ‘Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival‘ stops have yet to be publicly confirmed, Billboard.com have received word from a source connected to the festival that the bookings are indeed legitimate. The other listed dates seem to be more politically motivated however, taking place in border states that tend to skew Republican.
