The Static-X camp have teamed with Metal Monkey Brewing for a band-themed beer dubbed ‘Evil Disco Hell‘. The 5.4% ABV Helles-style lager is expected out in December in the Illinois area. Metal Monkey owner Dan Camp commented:

“Having seen the band on the original ‘Wisconsin Death Trip‘ tour, we were excited to work with the band on crafting a beer for the 20-year anniversary. Working with a band is a big deal to us, because at the end of the day we’re fans ourselves. But if we can bring a new experience to other fans out there, we think it’s a ton of fun. Not only can you enjoy the music, but you can enjoy a tasty beverage that the band was integral in making, so it gives fans a bit more insight as to what else these guys are into.

Tony [Campos] contacted us early into their tour knowing our love and passion for both craft beer and metal, so we’ve traded ideas back and forth for the past few months to come up with Evil Disco Hell.”

The idea of the beer collaboration may prove controversial, as the band’s late vocalist/guitarist Wayne Static battled for years with alcohol and prescription drug addiction and eventually passed away due to a fatal combination of both.

Static-X‘s surviving classic-era (Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay) lineup reunited to tour this year on the 20th anniversary of the band’s platinum-selling debut album, “Wisconsin Death Trip“. Dope frontman Edsel Dope is widely thought to have been recruited to don the Wayne Static-styled mask and front the band on that ongoing tour.

A new album composed by the band’s returning members around previously unreleased vocal recordings Wayne left behind has been titled “Project Regeneration” and will receive a May 29th release date. The band’s remaining dates this year can be found below with tickets available here.
