Stray From The Path Debut “The First Will Be Last”

Yet another track from the new Stray From The Path album “Internal Atomics” has arrived online. The latest is “The First Will Be Last” and it emerges just days ahead of the album’s official release this Friday, November 01st. Like much of the album, this song draws inspiration from a trip the band took to Kenya to oversee the installation of water filters in villages outside of Nairobi via the NGO Actions Not Words Kenya and the non-profit Hardcore Help Foundation.

Speaking with Billboard.com, the band’s guitarist Tom Williams commented:

“A big topic of the whole record is we want people to start acknowledging that some people don’t have everything that we have in America. We’ve been to the highest places like Japan, where cops don’t carry guns and the society is super overworked, and we’ve been to Africa, where people can’t turn on their faucets without getting sick because their water is so unclean. We’ve experienced all this stuff around the world, but we have people here who are clutching their pearls and wanting to protect their money, and they don’t understand that other people don’t have that.”

“I feel like the song is super important to open up the next generation to understand we need to help each other. If we want to start changing the world as we know it, we’ve got to start considering other people’s health and well-being, not just our own.”
