Metallica’s ‘S&M²’ Headed Back To Theaters

Following a successful first theatrical screening earlier this month that generated $5.5 million at the box office, Metallica‘s new live film ‘S&M²‘ will return to theaters for one more night on October 30th. The film was captured during the band’s September 06th & 08th, 2019 live pairings with the San Francisco Symphony at the grand opening of Chase Center in San Francisco, CA.

A future home release is being planned with more details to come. While Metallica are currently on hiatus as frontman/guitarist James Hetfield receives treatment for addiction issues, they’ll be back out in the spring for a South American tour and a string of North American metal/rock festival performances. They intend to play two different sets at each of those festivals with the following dates booked:

May 01st & 03rd Concord, NC – Charlotte Motor Speedway (‘Epicenter‘)
May 08th & 10th Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona International Speedway (‘Welcome To Rockville‘)
May 15th & 17th Columbus, OH – MAPFRE Stadium ‘Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival
September 18th & 20th Louisville, KY – Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center (‘Louder Than Life‘)
