Cro-Mags To Release New EP In December, Hear Motörhead’s Phil Campbell Guest On New Song

A new track from the Harley Flanagan-led version of Cro-Mags has premiered online. Below you can hear “From The Grave” off of the band’s forthcoming EP of the same name, out December 06th on Victory Records. This new track finds ex-Motörhead guitarist/vocalist Phil Campbell guesting. Flanagan commented of it:

Lemmy came to me in a dream and said ‘Take it back mate, it’s yours, you started it’ [referring to the band’s name]. I woke up and I knew what had to be done, so I did it. And I figured since Lemmy gave me my marching orders, I should get his guitarist to play on a new track. Phil immediately said yes and that is why it’s called ‘From The Grave,’ and I’m so honored to have him on this song.

I first met Phil when we toured with Motörhead on the Orgasmatron tour. He is one of my favorite guitarists of all time and I still can’t believe I have him playing on one of my songs. Thank you Phil and thank you Lemmy for making this all happen!”

The name battle Flanagan briefly mentions above is this legal settlement announced earlier this year. As a result of it, Flanagan can tour and release music as the Cro-Mags while the John Joseph and Mackie Jayson led version of the band are obligated to perform, etc. under the moniker of Cro-Mags JM. The settlement ended years of confusion and fighting over the matter.

As for the new track, Campbell also commented of his role on it:

“It was a great surprise to hear from Harley after so many years. We hung out a lot during the tour in the eighties. When I heard the track he wanted me to do, I just had to do it. Listen for yourselves!”

Pre-orders for “From The Grave” are available now at this location. In addition to the title track, the effort also features the song “PTSD” and the instrumental “Between Wars“. Current tour dates include:

10/17 Las Vegas, NV – Divebar
10/18 Los Angeles, CA – Roxy
