Rings Of Saturn’s Lucas Mann Accused Of Stealing Riffs From We Are The End

There’s some more controversy surrounding Rings Of Saturn and it doesn’t involve allegedly recording at half-speed. The latest accusation to be made against the band is one of plagiarism, with the group apparently having used several song ideas originally composed by the band We Are The End in the new Rings Of Saturn single “The Husk“.

Rings Of Saturn‘s guitarist Lucas Mann and their former guitarist Miles Dimitri Baker were both involved with We Are The End for a brief period of several months back in 2014. During that time We Are The End guitarist Brandyn Love alleges he showed Mann several riffs for song ideas.

While it appears that We Are The End never went on to officially release the songs, pre-production demos of those parts exist and have been released for comparison. Upon hearing “The Husk“, We Are The End commented late last week via social media:

“Everyone please be sure to congratulate Lucas Mann on his new song “THE HUSK” that he stole from us & put on the new Rings of Saturn album.
Lucas you’re a bitch!!!
But it brings us joy to be such an influence.
The song you stole is light years ahead of what we taught you back in 2014 when you & Miles Dimitri Baker were apart of our project. We’re not even mad just disappointed that a musician of your caliber would be so desperate & ruin our gold with your turd video game noise.”

The band have continued to further slam Lucas for his alleged actions in the days since via social media. Mann does not appear to have replied. If you want to add another wrinkle to the matter, Miles Dimitri Baker and drummer Aaron Stechauner exited the band back in 2018 with Baker alleging that Mann was unfairly claiming songwriting credits. We Are The End have also posted this message from Baker regarding the song.

The audio files in question were recently provided to the below YouTuber, who also chronicled the various ins and outs of the accusation. You can hear the direct comparison of the allegedly stolen parts starting at 4:47 into the video. “The Husk” is among the tracks included on Rings Of Saturn‘s new album “Gidim“, out October 25th.
