Slipknot/Stone Sour Frontman Corey Taylor Planning To Record Solo Album

Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has done his fair share of solo touring over the years, mostly performing covers and revised versions of previously released tracks. Now it appears he may take his solo career to the studio as well. Speaking on yesterday’s (August 22nd) episode of SiriusXM‘s ‘Trunk Nation‘, Taylor commented:

“I’m actually giving serious thought to doing a solo album and a solo run. Obviously, it’s not going to happen for a while. I’m actually giving you the exclusive, because I haven’t told anybody that I was going to do that.”

With Slipknot‘s new album “We Are Not Your Kind” having freshly arrived in stores and the band having lined up numerous touring commitments in support of it, Taylor isn’t expecting the potential solo album to materialize until at least 2021. That said, he’s already proceeding with the first steps for the project:

“I’m actually putting a band together. I’ve already told the guys in Stone Sour and Slipknot that I’m doing it, just out of respect. I’m going to start work on a solo album. That’s all I’ll give you for now. But, yeah, that’s the plan as of right now.”
