Battles have announced an October 18th release date for their new album “Juice B Crypts” via Warp Records. A first single from it titled “Titanum 2 Step” can be found below with Sal Principato of Liquid Liquid guesting on the track.
The band’s bassist, etc. Dave Konopka exited the group last year with the outfit continuing on as a duo. Speaking of the forthcoming album, multi-instrumentalist Ian Williams described it as being “about chord progressions, resolutions, returning home. Take that and throw it into a blender of modern electronic tools like glitching devices, or use melodic lines and take them and regurgitate them and pulverize the traditional stuff but at the same time try and retain harmonic relationships while completely smashing them up.”
