Metal Allegiance Tap Mastodon & Overkill Members For Halloween Black Sabbath Tribute Show

Metal supergroup Metal Allegiance will descend upon the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL for a special Halloween show on October 31st. As they’ve done previously, the group will be celebrating Black Sabbath with a live performance of the band’s 1970 self-titled debut album in its entirety. The supergroup will also be playing songs from their albums as well.

It appears that Metal Allegiance members David Ellefson (Megadeth) and Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater) will be sitting out the performance however as an official press release only has Metal Allegiance‘s Mark Menghi and Alex Skolnick (also of Testament) scheduled to perform. Joining the duo will be frequent collaborator, Bobby Blitz (of Overkill) while Mastodon‘s Brann Dailor will sit in on drums.

Crobot, Weapons Of Anew and Metalfier will open the show. Menghi commented:

“FINALLY! We’re playing in Chicago as MA. About time… We heard all the messages loud and clear! Prepare for my wig, Alex’s fake mustache that’ll most likely fall off mid-set, Blitz’s ball-busting, Brann’s MA debut and the MA attack ChiTown!”

Skolnick added:

“Last Halloween, we played Sabbath 1.0 in Brooklyn with vintage instruments (and facial hair); it was a musically satisfying experience and a heck of a good time. This time, we’re bringing the festivities to the Windy City and excited to jam with Brann for the first time, making the night all the more special. If in Chicago and in need of Halloween plans, look no further!”
