Slipknot's Jay Weinberg

Jay Weinberg Speaks On His Father Introducing Him To Slipknot & His Blind Audition Process

In a video newly shared by SJC Custom Drums which was shot during Slipknot‘ previous album cycle, the band’s drummer Jay Weinberg discusses his introduction to the band, his blind audition process for the group and more.

Interestingly he speaks of first discovering and later meeting the band through his father Max Weinberg, following Slipknot‘s early 2000s live performance on Conan O’Brien‘s late night talk show, which Max was the bandleader for at the time.

The elder Weinberg was impressed enough by their performance that he mentioned them to Jay, which led the then budding teenage musician to become obsessed with the group, eventually naming them as his favorite band. Jay can next be heard with Slipknot on their forthcoming album “We Are Not Your Kind“, out August 09th.
