Carnifex‘s new album “World War X” has been officially revealed for an August 02nd release on Nuclear Blast. The first single from it, “No Light Shall Save Us“, is available now via a brand new music video. Both the track and the Scott Hansen (Motionless In White, Deicide) directed music video for it feature a guest turn from Arch Enemy frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz.

Carnifex frontman Scott Ian Lewis commented of the song and collaboration:

“Collaborating with Alissa on ‘No Light Shall Save Us‘ was a joy from the start. Alissa was able to elevate the song with a dynamic that’s completely new for Carnifex. There is a melody and depth on ‘No Light Shall Save Us‘ unlike any previous Carnifex song. It’s the perfect start to your journey through ‘World War X‘.”

Alissa White-Gluz offered:

“With ‘No Light Shall Save Us‘ I think Carnifex and I have been able to create a really special piece. The video shoot was an incredible experience and from the second I read the lyrics and heard Scott’s vision for the song I knew I could really build on it and express myself. I’m excited to share this with the world!”

Alissa isn’t the only guest to grace the album as guitar virtuoso Angel Vivaldi lends his talents to the song “All Roads Lead To Hell“. “World War X” was tracked with produced and mixed by Jason Suecof (Trivium, Death Angel) at his AudioHammer Studio in Sanford, FL, while vocal tracking took place with Anaal Nathrakh‘s Mick Kenney behind the boards at The Barracks Studio in Huntington Beach, CA.

Blake Armstrong is responsible for the album’s cover art. Pre-orders for the album are available now at this location.
