Slipknot’s “Clown” Says Identity Of New Member Is “Nobody’s Fucking Business”

The last time Slipknot introduced some new mystery members, rookie mistakes like visible hand tattoos helped fans uncover who was behind one of the masks. This time around, the group appear to be dedicated to keeping whoever is performing as their new percussionist a secret.

When asked by Kerrang! about who the new mystery member is as part of their new cover feature on the band, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan in part replied: “The position you may or may not be talking about is nobody’s fucking business.”

He added “The proof is in the pudding. You should have been looking down and going ‘Huh? I have to talk to this dude about a new member potentially? Maybe I’ll avoid that one.’ They’ll throw you as raw meat in the lion’s cage and they’ll tell you it’s going to be OK.”

Notably the interview was conducted prior to this past weekend’s passing of Crahan‘s 22-year-old daughter Gabrielle. While an official cause of death has yet to be disclosed, TMZ are reporting that she tragically may have passed due to an apparent overdose. Her obituary can be read online here, while her funeral is to be held this weekend.

The aforementioned mystery percussionist replaces Chris Fehn, who was fired from the band after filing a lawsuit against members of the group and their camp earlier this year over a financial dispute. Kerrang! noted that the topic of Fehn was not up for discussion in the feature. Slipknot‘s new album “We Are Not Your Kind” will be in stores on August 09th through Roadrunner Records.
