Tool Announce August Release Date For New Album


Tool‘s long-awaited new album finally has an official release date. The band announced that the record will arrive in stores on August 30th during their concert earlier tonight, May 07th, in Birmingham, Alabama. The date was shown on the video screens at the concert (see footage below) and frontman Maynard James Keenan is said to have coyly joked about the news afterwards. The group have since shared the below video on social media as well announcing the date.

Much like the band’s spring tour kickoff, the group once again performed their new tracks “Descending” and “Invincible at this latest show. They also notably played their track “Intolerance” live for the first time since 2011.

Tool‘s last full-length album, “10,000 Days“, hit stores back May of 2006. This forthcoming album was recorded with Joe Baressi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Chevelle) once again behind the boards with sessions having for it having begun back in early 2018. Thus far a title for it has yet to be revealed.
