Blackguard will return to the stage for the first time in over four years come March. The band are also gearing up to independently release their new album “Storm” later this year—their first album since 2011’s “Firefight“. On the live front, the group will be performing at the Coalition in Toronto, ON on March 22nd with Crimson Shadows and Borealis. Speaking of their return, Blackguard in part commented:
“…We would like to take this time to thank all of you from the bottom of our black hearts for your continuing support for this musical entity that has been such a huge part of our lives for so long. This next chapter in our history is a return to our roots, we’re going at this alone again without the shackles of business obligations that brought us to the brink in the past. This is a labor of love beyond the typical metrics of “success” or “failure” and sharing this piece of us with you is our apotheosis…”

In addition to working on new material, the band’s out of print first album “So It Begins…” has newly been made available digitally via Bandcamp. The group released that under their original name Profugus Mortis.
