The Damned Things

Rob Caggiano Is No Longer A Member Of The Damned Things

When The Damned Things return to the stage this year, it will apparently be without guitarist Rob Caggiano. Caggiano, who previously played with The Damned ThingsScott Ian during a stint in Anthrax, has been a member of Volbeat since around 2013.

When asked by Hatebreed, etc. frontman Jamey Jasta during a recent appearance on ‘The Jasta Show‘, about The Damned Things coming back, Caggiano replied that he wasn’t involved. When asked who was in the band now, he offered: “I don’t know, to be honest. I haven’t spoken to those dudes in a bit.”

When asked about his potential replacement, he joked “I think they have enough guitar players, but I’m not sure [laughs].” Caggiano later spoke of the band and his time in it, offering that he was “really proud” of their record and described the experience as a “blast”.

Going by their previous incarnation, this would suggest that the band’s lineup now includes Every Time I Die‘s Keith Buckley, Anthrax‘s Scott Ian, Fall Out Boy‘s Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman and Josh Newton of Shiner, ex-Every Time I Die fame.

While there’s not concrete details yet, recent years have found members of the band teasing new material. In more concrete news, they announced their first live shows since 2011 will take place this spring and thus far include:

05/04 Jacksonville, FL – Welcome To Rockville
05/11 Richmond County, NC – Epicenter Festival
