Mastodon Planning To Release “Heavy” New Song This Month


Mastodon will have a new song out digitally this month ahead of their European/UK tour with Kvelertak and Mutoid Man. In a feature with Kerrang!, the band revealed they entered their own Atlanta, GA studio last month to record new material. Guitarist Bill Kelliher described this forthcoming new track as being “a basher” and “brutal”. Drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor also chimed in, offering “It’s as heavy as I’ve heard us in a while.”

According to the feature, the song will be released digitally ahead of the band’s UK run which commences next week. On top of that, it appears that Neurosis, etc. vocalist Scott Kelly will be guesting on this new song. A frequent album guest throughout the band’s career, Kelly will also be joining Mastodon during the during the January 14th to February 09th shows of the below tour:
