Original Story:

Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien has been arrested for on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer after an incident that occurred yesterday night, December 10th, near his Northdale, Florida home.

According to police, the 53-year-old O’Brien entered a Northdale home around 7:00 PM on Monday that was not his own, and pushed down one of the occupants who told him to leave.

He then ran into the backyard of the home and hid near a fence. He was later disarmed by an electronic control device after charging at a responding deputy with a knife in his hand.

During the same time, O’Brien‘s Northdale home was engulfed in flames. Hillsborough County firefighters state they found military-style flamethrowers and ammunition inside O’Brien‘s home which made the blaze harder to quell.

O’Brien is believed to have been fleeing the scene of his burning house when responders arrived and was arrested less than .5 miles away from his residence. O’Brien has been the lead guitarist for Cannibal Corpse since 1997. The band themselves have yet to comment on the matter and had just announced a North American tour with Slayer.
