Mastodon vocalist/guitarist Brent Hinds has revealed that he missed attending the GRAMMYS award ceremony this past January due to being the victim of a hit and run on his motorcycle that left him in his hospital.

Hinds made the reveal of his injuries in a post today, November 08th, while sharing some gnarly photos of the injuries he received from the accident. Mastodon themselves took home the GRAMMY for the ‘Best Metal Performance’ with their song “Sultan’s Curse” at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Hinds also revealed that he performed on the soundtrack for the new Ben Winston film ‘Hell Bound‘, which is to premiere tonight, November 08th, at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, GA. He had laid down his parts around the same time as the accident.

“Go see this movie..!!!
