Eagles Of Death Metal Tackle Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Queens Of The Stone Age, Etc. Songs On New Covers Album

Eagles Of Death Metal are preparing a new covers album titled “Pigeons Of Shit Metal” for a release on a variety of different vinyl options. The album features artwork (see below) done by the band’s own Josh Homme (also of Queens Of The Stone Age) and will be available through Last Hurrah Record. on black vinyl, glow-in-the-dark vinyl, neon pink vinyl, cyan blue vinyl and milky clear with splatter vinyl. Pre-orders for it can be found here.

It will find also the band covering some Homme-related bands, including Queens Of The Stone Age tracks and The Distillers—who are fronted by Homme‘s wife Brody Dalle. Here’s the track listing:

01 – “It’s So Easy” (Guns N’ Roses cover)
02 – “Beat On The Brat” (Ramones cover)
03 – “Gouge Away” (Pixies cover)
04 – “So Alive” (Love and Rockets cover)
05 – “High Voltage (medley)” (AC/DC cover)
06 – “Go With The Flow” (Queens Of The Stone Age cover)
07 – “The Hunger” (The Distillers cover)
08 – “Abracadabra” (Steve Miller Band cover)
09 – “Gonna Leave You” (Queens Of The Stone Age cover)
10 – “Long Slow Goodbye” (Queens Of The Stone Age cover)

There is of course a certain level of trolling involved with this compilation as ‘Pigeons Of Shit Metal’ is what Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose called the band back in 2006 after a tour together went sour. Given that a cover of Guns N’ Roses‘ “It’s So Easy” is the opening track, you can see where the band were going with this.
