TMZ report that Vicky Cornell, widow of Soundgarden, etc. frontman Chris Cornell, has apparently filed a malpractice suit against Chris‘ doctor, Dr. Robert Koblin. According to the lawsuit, Koblin allegedly prescribed 940 doses of the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam (aka Ativan) as well as doses of Oxycodone to Chris during the last 20 months of his life.
The suit further alleges that Koblin did so without repeat examinations of Chris, despite apparently knowing of his history of addiction. Vicky and her children are suing for unspecified damages in the case and allege that Lorazepam can impair judgment and increase the risk of suicide in addiction-prone individuals. They further allege that Koblin never warned Chris of the risks of suicidal thoughts allegedly brought on by the drug.
Chris took his own life on May 18th, 2017 in Detroit, MI after playing a show with Soundgarden.
