Believe Digital Acquires Majority Stake In Nuclear Blast Records

Music Business Worldwide report that Believe Digital has acquired a majority stake in Nuclear Blast Records for what is said to be an eight-figure sum. The label’s founder/CEO Markus Staiger remains a shareholder in the company with both parties issuing statements on the matter.

Thorsten Freese, Managing Director of Believe Digital Germany commented:

Believe Digital specialize in digital distribution within the European market in particular, having amassed a catalog via a number of labels over the years. Nuclear Blast Records have a decades long run in the metal and rock industry and are currently home to bands such as Carcass, Meshuggah, Testament and many more.
