Steel Panther guitarist Satchel has drawn some heated criticism for the name of his new guitar effect preset. Satchel had teamed with TC Electronic to offer up his ‘Pussy Melter’ TonePrint. A number of artists and more have spoken out against it, calling it sexist, disgusting, etc..
Of course, given the fact that the band are an over the top take on the overtly sexualized glam metal scene of the 1980s, the pedal has also drawn support from a segment of the band’s fans as well. In the wake of the backlash the product has been pulled from the website of TC Electronic (you can see a Google cached listing here.)
The band themselves seem to be taking the criticism in stride with Satchel himself brushing off the complaints with the below tweet:
I’m working overtime with TC Electronics to re-release the “pussy melter” tone print under the less offensive, more politically correct name of the “Butthole Burner”. Don’t worry- it will still melt your pussy, ladies.

His bandmate, drummer Stix Zadinia also took to social media to offer:
Today has been really entertaining online. Again, I’d sincerely like to express my love of pussy, weed, partying and heavy metal. @Steel_Panther is a lifestyle.
